Y'all know that I try to take quilts to the fair every year. Here are some of the ones that won after the judging on Tuesday.
There is very limited space to exhibit at the fairgrounds, so this wall hanging is folded...you are only seeing a fourth of it.
Some of you will remember that hummingbird fabric in the center. It only took me two years to get it in a quilt.
Machine quilted scrap quilt. This one won third place, but there was lots of competition. This is the most popular category.
Machine quilted appliqued falling leaves.
Again, this is only one fourth of the quilt. Hand quilted crib quilt.
I didn't enter any canning items this year, but I love seeing all the winners. It looks like a huge, beautiful pantry.
The fair will be here until Sunday night. Local peeps, you still have plenty of time to check this out!

Beautiful quilts!! I'm partial to string quilts you know. You've been very busy! I wish at least half of a quilt could be shown; it's the same way at our county fair, the quilts are mostly folded. I didn't enter one this year, and was told there were only ten entered.
ReplyDeleteI always try to enter some because I'm afraid they will stop having it if they don't get several. There are a lot of young quilters entering now--makes me happy! Also, knitting is big now so there were lots of entries in that category.
DeleteWanda... I've got to have the pattern for the elephant one... my friend Irene Latham wrote a book titled "Don't Feed the Boy" I'll post a link on facebook so you can see the cover and my niece is in Maine going to college to take care of elephants... will you share??
ReplyDeleteoh, by the way... congrats the quilts are beautiful
ReplyDeleteI will share but I don't have a pattern, except for the elephant and giraffe. Just kind of made it up from another quilt I had seen years ago. When I get it back, I will send a picture of the whole thing, and tell you how I did it. I wish they had room to show the whole quilt. Thanks.
Deleteblocks are no problem for me the elephant and giraffe would be wonderful...
