Sunday Scripture: Lord of the Harvest

Therefore He said unto them, The  harvest truly is great, but the laborers  are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into His harvest. ~Luke 10:2

Jawz Fish Tacos/Food Trucks

I am a huge fan of food trucks.  They are just about everywhere you go in Hawaii, and unfortunately, I wasn't able to try them all.  We found this one near the entrance of Makena State Park, and it looked yummy. Fish tacos are apparently beach food, because they were selling them as fast as they could put them together.  Mine was very fresh and good. It was just under $10 for the taco and a large drink. I wish I had another one right now.

In Loving Memory: Doug Austin

In loving memory William Douglas "Doug" Austin November 21, 2016 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4

Makena State Park, Maui

Makena State Park on Maui has beautiful white sand beaches, backed by a dormant volcanic cinder cone. The water was clean but cold, very different from the Gulf water that we are used to. Makena Beach was once a popular nudist beach, but popularity has decreased dramatically since everyone owns a cell phone with video now.  All beach visitors were properly clothed the day we were there. Chickens run wild in the park; I'm guessing there are no coyotes or foxes on the island.

Maui

We had not see land for four days, so we were are excited about coming into Maui.  We had a perfect sunrise, then started seeing volcanic mountains come into view. People there really do say Aloha all the time. Maui is one of the most beautiful places on Earth.  I'm so thankful we got to see this!

Sunday Scripture: Sheaves

Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them. ~Psalm 126:6

Look Up

The air up there in the clouds  is very pure and fine,  bracing and delicious.  And why  shouldn't it be?  — it is the same the angels breathe.  ~Mark Twain

Blue Hawaii

Before we got to Hawaii, we were warned that the islands were not exactly like they had been portrayed in various movies, including the ones with Elvis.   Don't expect all beach and bikinis , they said. While Elvis wasn't in the house, there were still some things that we had seen in the movies, including giant waves and surfers.  You will have to look closely to find them. Don't turn your back on the ocean is a warning seen near the beaches .  We were standing several feet from the tide line watching the surfers.  When we were ready to go, we turned our backs to the ocean, and in about a second, our feet got wet with that cold Pacific water.  The person who vacuumed our rental car probably hates us.
