Rogersville, Alabama Fall Festival

Saturday was a perfect day for a festival.  We were exhausted from a busy week, so we went to one in Rogersville, Alabama, not too far from home. Hub loves these car shows.  They are nice, but I prefer new cars. The whole town was beautifully decorated. The East Lauderdale Quilters had a small but impressive quilt show as part of the festival. October is the chosen month for festivals, apparently, and there are so many that it is impossible to attend all of them. There are several more festivals in our area during October, so you still have many opportunities to check them out.

First Saturdays: Rogersville

We spent part of Saturday afternoon strolling around Rogersville for their First Saturday event.  It was all about Christmas, and Christmas music could be heard all over town. It was chilly and windy, but lots of people were out enjoying the day, visiting and buying Christmas gifts and ornaments.   Of course, there were politicians out, shaking hands right up to the last hours before the election on Tuesday. Apparently, they are everywhere. The best thing I saw was this painted chair with a burlap cushion at Jan's Antiques. I love the big chicken over the coffee shop. Big chickens always brighten up my day. There are several cute shops in downtown Rogersville, but you can't see them unless you turn off Highway 72.  Go check them out!
