Rose, Daisy, Violet, and Tulip were all in a good mood and raring to go last night. Rose and Tulip brought quilts for show and tell. After a boring but brief tutorial about making bias binding, we started on our new quilt.
I had a yard of bird fabric, so I cut it into random sizes and 'framed' the pieces with strips of assorted fabric. It is quite colorful, as I'm sure you can see.
All of us are bird lovers, so this quilt is going to be a joy to stitch.
My quilting frame has this socket/clutch thing to help keep the quilt tight. It is much easier than my traditional frames that hung from the ceiling.
I bought these frames at an auction several years ago. I have no idea who made them or how old they are. They still work well, and don't take up as much space as some frames do.
And here we are, stitching and laughing and calming our nerves.
This class is made possible by a grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts. Thanks!
Oh, just to be a part of this, stitching and laughing and calming my nerves with friends!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty; I have a fat quarter like the piece with the bluebird.
Charlotte, you are a part of it! It would be nice to have you sitting around the frame with us. :)
